Europe Explained is a personal website, published on a non-professional, non-commercial basis by Constantin, aka SuperKostia, entrepreneur and developer. It has no link with the European Union, its institutions or any government, and is not funded by any of them.

Figures come from public sources, shown with their source and period on every page: Eurostat (reuse allowed with attribution, Decision 2011/833/EU), World Bank (CC BY 4.0), country profiles of the official European Union portal, European Central Bank. Accession, euro and Schengen dates are checked on official EU websites.
